Dr. Darrell Spurlock, Jr. is a researcher, professor of nursing, and serves as Director of Scholarship and Institutional Effectiveness at Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Spurlock has taught courses on research methods, statistics/data analysis, quality improvement and patient safety, EBP, and education-related topics. Dr. Spurlock has many active research projects, including funded research to develop a new measure of EBP knowledge among nurses and a study of the relationships between nurse staffing and timeliness of pain medication administration in the emergency department.
In 2015, Dr. Spurlock was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Nursing Education.
Outside of nursing-related topics, Dr. Spurlock enjoys technology, leadership development, and spending time outside (but never enough) with his dog. Dr. Spurlock lives near Columbus, Ohio with his wife who is also a nurse.
