Dr. Darrell Spurlock, Jr. is a nurse researcher and Associate Professor of Nursing at Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Spurlock teaches courses on research methods, statistics/data analysis, quality improvement and patient safety, EBP, and education-related topics. Dr. Spurlock has many active research projects, including funded research to develop a new measure of EBP knowledge among nurses and a study of the relationships between nurse staffing and timeliness of pain medication administration in the emergency department.
Outside of nursing-related topics, Dr. Spurlock enjoys learning about technology, leadership and professional development, and spending time outside (but never enough) with his dog. Dr. Spurlock lives near Columbus, Ohio with his wife who is also a nurse.
